“The Elephant Song” & “Crazy Over Vegetables” by Eric Herman
Hello Planet KidVid fans, I have something special for you today...not one but two cool new KidVids by Eric Herman. I first heard of Eric Herman and his Invisible Band on MySpace. I liked his music, but just yesterday when I found “The Elephant Song” video I became an Eric Herman fan! I Love this animated video and you will too. The interaction with the child in the song is awesome and the images are great! So, just for fun I checked out his other videos and expected pretty much the same thing, and guess what??? “Crazy Over Vegetables” is totally different, a crazy live video reminiscent of vintage Weird Al (who I love, happy Valentines Day to Al). So I felt like I just HAD to share BOTH videos with you today, enjoy! Hey Monty, what do you think?

Great pair of Eric Herman videos! Lisa is featuring him on this week's KMP Podcast, too.
Evalyn and I saw the Elephant Song video a few months back and she loved it. This is a very interactive song for young kids. It lets them be smart; not only that, Evalyn then wanted to play the same game with me and we made up our own erroneous descriptions of things.
The Veggie video is hilarious!
Eric Herman is a talent to be reckoned with. Many of his songs are elaborate set-ups to very clever punch lines, like "Blue Beard Red Beard and Black Beard," which won the last Just Plain Folks best children's song award.
My kids and I have seen Eric Herman in concert three times. He always puts on a great show that involves the kids. Last time was at an elementary school with a crowd of around 200. It was hilarious to see these children literally standing up and screaming at him during The Elephant Song, "Noooo, that's not right!!" Even though they got the joke, they loved calling him on it.
My own kids love Eric because he makes them laugh AND makes them think.
He has a new CD coming out soon, Snail's Pace, that will feature slower songs for those times when you don't really want your kids to be dancing and giggling. Should be perfect for bedtime!

Thanks for the nice comments, though. Very much appreciated. By the way, since you mentioned it... Snail's Pace will have a new version of "The Elephant Song" featuring my girls. (People always think that girl on the recording is my Becca, but she was less than 1 at the time.) We might make another video, too, though it will probably be similar to this one.
